- MICROS to Provide Systems for New Singapore Resort

Columbia -- MICROS Systems, a provider of IT for the hospitality and retail industries, announced that Singapore-based Resorts World at Sentosa has selected MICROS's OPERA Enterprise Solution for its new project on Sentosa Island. With 1,800 rooms spread over six hotels of varying themes, the Resort will utilize the multi-property version of the OPERA Property Management and OPERA Sales and Catering systems. The OPERA Web Suite (OWS) will be used to provide customers with the ability to make on-line accommodation, dining and entertainment reservations under a single itinerary.

Columbia -- Message Systems reported last week that CA-based SchoolMessenger, a provider of notification solutions for education, has selected Message Systems' email platform. Baltimore -- The same day this publication launched its blog, the Baltimore Sun launched BaltTech, a new blog about interesting tech trends coming out of Baltimore. The blog is written by Gus Sentiments, a 10-year journalist covering news from business to crime for the Sun. Gus recently began to appreciate technology when he started carrying a video camera and iPhone to get his job done.
